Depart from Malabo early morning (6:00 AM) and drive to the mountain trailhead at Moka Valley. Begin the ascent through dense cloud forest, passing by towering tree ferns and endemic plant species. Arrive at the base camp (approximately 2,200m) by mid-afternoon, set up tents, and take a short acclimatization hike. Enjoy a hot dinner prepared by the guide team as the sun sets over the island. Early night recommended for the summit push.
Wake at 3:30 AM for a pre-dawn start with headlamps. The final climb crosses alpine grasslands and volcanic scree slopes to reach the summit at sunrise. From the peak, soak in 360-degree views of Bioko Island, the Atlantic coastline, and on clear days, the mainland of Cameroon.
