Depart Malabo at 8:00 AM in a 4x4 vehicle for the scenic 2.5-hour drive traversing Bioko's southern jungles. Arrive at Ureca Beach mid-morning — the dramatic black sand and turquoise waters will captivate you immediately. Check into your beachfront eco-lodge, then spend the afternoon snorkeling among volcanic reefs, exploring tidal pools, and walking the coastline. As evening falls, enjoy a freshly prepared seafood barbecue on the beach with a bonfire under a canopy of stars.
Wake to the sound of waves and enjoy a leisurely breakfast at the lodge. Morning activities include a guided nature walk along the coastal trail where you may spot monkeys, colorful birds, and monitor lizards. In season, visit the turtle nesting sanctuary with a conservation guide. After a final swim, depart Ureca at 1:00 PM and return to Malabo by late afternoon.
