Depart Malabo early (6:00 AM) for the airport for a short 45-minute flight across the Gulf of Guinea to Bata (or ferry depending on availability). Upon arrival, meet your local guide and transfer to the city center. Begin at the Bata Central Market — a vibrant maze of fresh produce, seafood, textiles, and local crafts. Continue to the Bata Cultural Center to see exhibits on Rio Muni's ethnic groups. Walk the scenic Bata Promenade with views of the Atlantic and visit the Monument to the Bantu Peoples. Enjoy a seafood lunch at a waterfront restaurant. After lunch, explore the Cathedral of Bata and the nearby artisan quarter. Transfer to Bata Airport at 4:00 PM for the return flight, arriving in Malabo by 5:30 PM.
